A Christmas Gift 2011

Forgive any jumps/skips/volume issue. I am a victim of WMM. Evil. Pure evil. I lost this 3 times before I kept it more simple.

A little something special for all of our listeners and fellow VAs. Thank you for you continued support of our work this past year and here's looking forward to much more in 2012!

3DF is a non-profit voice acting group. We are fans doing it for the love of audio drama and the great sources we base our projects on. We are not affiliated with any of the corresponding companies: GYAKUTEN SAIBAN (Ace Attorney) belongs to Capcom; KUROSHITSUJI (Black Butler) belongs to Yana Toboso and A-1 Pictures. We bow down at their feet, and make no money in the process of doing so. All love, no mula.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

"Butler" Ep. 20 Fan-Dub Excerpt

3DF's Black Butler "Proper" series, as it's come to be known in the cast, is drawing to a close.  The finale, BLACK BUTLER: From the Ashes, will conclude our presentation next year.  But there's quite a jump between Rewritten's last episode, #18 and Ashes' first episode, #22.  I highly suggest checking them out.

[...] "But Faith, we love the 3DF cast, and can't wait 'til next year for more!"

Oh, well, in that case...

Some of the lovely folks in our cast have gotten together to not only perform an epic scene from Ep. 20, His Butler, Escaping, but they did it with visuals!  As usual, though, please be aware that Black Butler contains material that may not be suitable for all viewers, and this is certainly not an exception.

In this scene, Sebastian has been taken captive and brought to the Tower in Ciel's place after the boy earl is accused of drug trafficking.  After some time, a familiar enforcer greets him to offer him a deal...and administer punishment if need be.

Starring the voices of Jason Marnocha as Sebastian Michaelis, Lord Randall and the dungeon master; Krystal Donahue as Angela Blanc; and Rina Adachi as Ciel Phantomhive.  It was edited by Jason, and is hosted at Krystal's voice acting YouTube page.  (Please see the sidebar for links.)

Regularly Scheduled Update

Well, not really, as I didn't have an update scheduled, but hey, I digress. :)

3DF has been a bit quiet lately, and that's normal for this time of year.  With fall arriving and winter very quickly approaching, there has been a lot of illness going around, and in addition to that, school has picked up the pace.  Many of our VAs are students and this is an extremely busy time for them.  So, be it fellow VAs or followers, we appreciate you sticking with us, particularly via the Facebook page.  (Link in the right-hand sidebar; come on over and play!)

In terms of productions, here's a quick run-down on what's going on behind the scenes:
1) The infamous Shangri-La - I'm waiting on ONE more set of lines.  If I don't receive them soon, I will be recording the remaining role myself.  Thank God it is female. XD  But that is chugging along.
2) Ace Attorney - Also moving along slowly.  I have received understudy lines, so I should have some time to work on that soon.  I do need to contact some more folks about it though.  Specifically with Apollo Justice, we're at a slight stand-still as one of the crucial characters might need a new VA.
3) Black Butler - Much happier news, this has been our main focus for some time.  Rewritten is in heavy mixing right now, and I'm waiting on a bit more line work.  Expect that in the very near future.
4) Christmas project - Followers of the Facebook page will have seen that while I'd love to do The Christmas Toy, it requires more work than I could chew.  I have actually found a pre-made script for the classic A Christmas Carol.  Currently in debate for doing that in some way or form.  Perhaps as a reading by some of your favorite 3DF veterans, at the very least.

And finally, one project about to go into heavy planning.  I just recently completed my very first writing venture for the Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler fandom, entitled "For the Love of Stella."  Yes, that is going to become an audio presentation. :)  Currently cast VAs include Curt Rose (Grell Sutcliff), Dylan Spencer (William T. Spears), Krystal Donahue (Alan Humphries), Gabriel Clarke (Ronald Knox), Jason Marnocha (joining "Team Shinigami" as Eric Slingby) and Samantha Ylagan aka "ichigoboba" as baby Stella.  Longtime veterans James Hall and Rina Adachi are in talks.

I hope to audition some folks for three brand new characters, a band of rogue Demons, 2F/1M.  More information on that soon.  If you would like to read the fan-fiction, you can find it online at fanfiction.net and deviantArt.

On a final note, congratulations to 3DF legend Jason Marnocha on achieving 2000 subscribers to his YouTube channel, LordJazor.  Go on ever there to see his video for the occasion!  He was epic enough to include video footage of line recording, one such set of behind-the-scenes being his recording lines as Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler!  (Please be aware, the video contains content that is not safe for work or kidlins. :3)

As always, we are not affiliated with our various sources (links can all be found to the right).  We are fans and hobby voice-actors who love what we do and sharing it with all.  We don't make any money off of anything whatsoever.

'til next time, Faith out! :) <3

Shinigami Mini-sode - "IN FRENCH"

~ Download the full audio here!

Everyone's favorite Grim Reapers are back, just in time for Halloween!  But there's nothing to fear from this little tale, except for Grell on the hunt for 'true love' using the very language of romance itself.  Back in their Academy days, Will needs help with a French exam, and only the flamboyant Red Reaper is skilled enough to help.

Fan favorite Will and Grell, Dylan Spencer and Curt Rose, reprise their roles in this story based on the fan-fiction by pseudonymical.  Be sure to check out the original work here, as well as her other Black Butler fics.  You won't be disappointed!

And of course, Black Butler belongs to all the great minds that created it.  We're in no way associated with them, nor do any of us make any mula from this.  We're fans.  We have fun! :D

WILL THE REAPER - Visual Edition

PART 1
PART 2

WILL THE REAPER has gone visual. I premiered it as an early Halloween gift to the Facebook group yesterday. Which is why if you haven't joined our Facebook page yet, it might be a good idea to do so!

3DF uses still imagery, along the lines of the old Golden Books videos of the 80s/90s, for a few reasons. 1) Nostalgia. 2) Video itself is very difficult to dub.  3) Still images help, but your mind is still focused on audio, which is our whole goal!  We don't do videos often except for trailers and such, but it's a nice treat now and then, and WILL THE REAPER was a great candidate!

Typical stuffs: We don't own, we don't make money.  This is for fun.

BestofSanTanValley.com Feature!

In all the hubbub and excitement of the BB:MFL premiere, I almost forgot something epic!

My beautiful hometown, San Tan Valley, isn't exactly well known just yet.  Heck, some websites still don't even acknowledge us as a town.  But one website is trying to change all that, and when they were looking for blogs based here, I submitted 3DF's.  What I was not expecting was to have an entire feature article to be done about us!

San Tan Valley has Faith in Voice Drama
by Stacy Gramazio

"Some may say that the art of voice drama died with the invention of television, but many die-hard fans fight to keep audio drama relevant and interesting in this modern age. San Tan Valley is home to a nonprofit organization, 3DF Productions, who understand the beauty of this sometimes forgotten art form that allows an audience to “immerse one’s imagination in epic storytelling.” Local resident Faith Kelter is the mastermind behind this production company and wears many hats functioning as not only a talented voice over actress, but also a writer, director, and editor of her podcasts."

Click here to read the full article!

Our most humble thanks and appreciation to Ms. Gramazio and BestofSanTanValley.com for helping us spread the word.  I encourage everyone to please go visit the site; it's a beautiful representation of a town that I've very much come to call home.

"To the founder of our feast..."

Photobucket
          Joseph Gaydos, 1922 - 2005

I just realized what today was, and it's truly a bittersweet and yet happy day for myself, my family, and in a sense, for 3DF.

October 13th is my late grandfather, Joe Gaydos' birthday.  If he were still with us, he would've have been 89 years young.  He was a wonderful man, and I miss him very dearly, as he was truly one of the few that never made me feel unbelievably ridiculous for all my creative, wacky schemes and plans.  When I was upset, he told me, gently, how it was.  If I was right, he'd say so.  If I was wrong, he'd calmly talk me to me and help me see another point of view.  He was a great father to my late uncle, my mom, and my aunt, and he was an equally great grandfather to myself, my brother, and our two younger cousins.

It's because of him that I truly got into audio-drama.  He would constantly play different things from his younger days on his radio for me.  Sometimes it was a song, and sometimes it was a radio-play from his era, and I loved it.  I love movies and videos as much as the next person, but as a child, being able to picture it for myself was this whimsical, exciting thing.  I still have an overactive imagination.  My mom says that's necessary for someone in my position who has a talent for writing and a great love of theater.  And it was my grandfather who helped nurture that, ultimately being a huge inspiration to begin 3DF Productions.

So today, I'd like everyone to take a moment to join me and say "Happy birthday!" to him.  All my love to him, and I'm sure he's partying up in Heaven somewhere. ::salutes him::

(Major thank you to my Aunt Jodie for having a picture of him on her facebook!  Thank you so much! :))
