WILL THE REAPER: Visual Edition - HOW many? O.O

A while back, I made a "visual edition" of 3DF's fan audio of The Story of Will the Reaper, the OVA from Kuroshitsuji Season 2. It's our most successful audio yet, probably due to the fact that, for a while longer at least, it's the only available English version. If you haven't heard it yet, go to the left side bar, and click the link. The visual edition is there as well.

[PS: In April, FUNimation is releasing Season 2 in North America on DVD, and the OVAs are a huge reason why I want to get it. So as with all 3DF projects, show your love for the original sources as we're just a bunch of fans who love what we do. I think it's currently available for pre-order.]

But anyway, I made a visual edition using the audio from our project and still imagery of the episode. Why still imagery as a lot of folks have complained about? For the following reasons:

1) 3DF will always, first and foremost, be about audio and listening. We have stated that we fight for the art of audio-drama, a media that has become lost in a sea of films and television. With still imagery (pictures over audio), a viewer still has to pay attention to the audio itself. The pictures are an added bonus.

2) Video dubbing is NOT easy, and I applaud professional and amateur voice actors who have done it. I made a full motion video dub once for Gyakuten Kenji 2, and it was the biggest pain in the rear ever. Not to mention, for Will the Reaper, as a radio-play style audio that took necessary liberties in adaptation, it doesn't match up directly to the video. A visual edition is a bonus from 3DF, a treat. And that's what it was always meant to be.

3) With all the insanity going on about YouTube and copyrighted materials, doing an actual video of the dub would probably not go over well. I go out of my way to constantly say "We're NOT making money off this! We just love what we do." It would kill me to put so much hard work into a project only to see it taken down because bots and suchery found matching material and doesn't know the different. Still imagery alone takes many hours between picking screen captures and then editing it all together in a crappy video editing program. To do so much work on a video itself only to see it taken down or silenced...I wouldn't be a happy camper.

With all this said, however, I'm quite honored to say that Part I and Part 2 of Will the Reaper have received over 10k and 12k views. And frankly, that's pretty damn epic. If you're one of those viewers, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. If you haven't seen it yet, please, go take a listen and watch!
